Es el efecto que tienen algunas sustancias sobre el ritmo cardíaco. Aquellas que son cronotrópicos positivos, aceleran la frecuencia cardíaca, mientras que los que tienen un efecto cronotrópico negativo producen disminución de la frecuencia cardíaca.
