Glicoproteína que tiene un peso molecular de aproximadamente 70.000 d, secretada por el endotelio vascular, de actividad fibrinolítica y potencia trombolítica y semivida muy corta. Sería menos fibrinógenolítico que la estreptoquinasa y la uroquinasa. Producido por ingeniería genética (rtPA), se prescribe por vía intravenosa en la trombosis coronaria reciente.
