Rama de la faríngea ascendente que penetra en el cráneo por el agujero rasgado posterior o por el conducto condíleo anterior. A veces puede dividirse en dos ramas entrando en el cráneo cada una por uno de los dos agujeros mencionados. Una vez en el cráneo se ramifica por la dura madre contigua. <(F): Artère meningeal postérieure: plus petite que la branche antérieure, se dirige en haut et en arrière, et se ramifie sur la portion écailleuse du temporal et sur la portion inférieure et postérieure du pariétal, en suivant d'abord la suture pétro-occipitale qu'elle croise plus haut.
