Enfermedad pulmonar crónica causada por la inhalación de fibras de asbesto también conocido como amianto. Es una neumoconiosis considerada como enfermedad profesional y caracterizada por una fibrosis pulmonar intersticial. <(A.): Asbestose: krankheit der Lunge und gehört zu den so genannten Pneumokoniosen (Staublungenkrankheiten). Sie entsteht durch eingeatmeten Staub von Asbest.
<(F.): Asbestose: affection pulmonaire (pneumoconiose) due à l’inhalation de poussières d’asbeste, d’amiante.
<(Ing.): Asbestosis: it is a chronic inflammatory and fibrotic medical condition affecting the parenchymal tissue of the lungs caused by the inhalation and retention of asbestos fibers. It usually occurs after high intensity and/or long-term exposure to asbestos and is therefore regarded as an occupational lung disease.
