Tumor maligno que se origina en las células no glandulares, en oposición a los adenocarcinomas. Es la variedad más común en los tumores de garganta, boca y cuello uterino.
Sinónimos: carcinoma malpigiano, carcinoma espinocelular, epitelioma espinocelular.
