MEATO NASAL MEDIO.

 
   Meatus nasi medius: en el interior de las fosas nasales, espacio situado por debajo del cornete medio y en el que desembocan las celdas etmoidales anteriores, los senos frontales y los maxilares.
 
   <(A): Mittlerer Nasengang: ist eine kanalartige Öffnung, die hinter der Nase liegt und bis in den Schädel und in die Nasennebenhöhlen zurückreicht. Befindet sich zwischen der mittleren und der unteren Ohrmuschel und erstreckt sich vom vorderen bis zum hinteren Ende der letzteren. Die Seitenwand dieses Meatus kann erst nach Entfernung der mittleren Ohrmuschel zufriedenstellend untersucht werden. Auf ihr befindet sich eine gekrümmte Fissur, der Hiatus semilunaris, der unten durch den Rand des unzinatalen Processus ethmoidalis und oben durch eine Erhebung namens Bulla ethmoidalis begrenzt wird; die mittleren ethmoidalen Zellen befinden sich innerhalb dieser Bulla und öffnen sich an oder in der Nähe dieser Bulla. Durch den Hiatus semilunaris kommuniziert der Meatus mit einer gekrümmten Passage, dem Infundibulum, das vorne mit den vorderen Siebbeinzellen kommuniziert und sich in etwas mehr als fünfzig Prozent der Schädel nach oben als frontonasaler Gang in den frontalen Luftsinus fortsetzt; wenn diese Kontinuität gegeben ist.
 
   <(F): Méat nasal moyen: les méats sont des passages en forme de gouttière situés entre les cornets des fosses nasales. Situated between the middle and inferior conchæ, and extends from the anterior to the posterior end of the latter. The lateral wall of this meatus can be satisfactorily studied only after the removal of the middle concha. On it is a curved fissure, the hiatus semilunaris, limited below by the edge of the uncinate process of the ethmoid and above by an elevation named the bulla ethmoidalis; the middle ethmoidal cells are contained within this bulla and open on or near to it.
