Segmentos transversales en que se divide la médula espinal, formados en el embrión a partir de las somitas correspondiendo cada una con un ganglio espinal y sus correspondientes nervios raquídeos izquierdo y derecho. Está constituida por el campo de inervación de un nervio raquídeo y según el tipo se diferencian en: dermatoma: encargada de inervar la piel, habiendo 28 dermatomas en el cuerpo humano; miotoma: inerva la musculatura hay 10 miotomas; viscerotoma: inerva órganos o vísceras; angiotoma: inervación vascular: neuritoma: el propio nervio y su prolongación con el sistema nervioso autónomo.

Es wird durch das Innervationsfeld eines Spinalnervs gebildet und je nach Typ unterschieden: Dermatom: zuständig für die Hautinnervation, es gibt 28 Dermatome im menschlichen Körper; Myotom: innerviert die Muskulatur, es gibt 10 Myotome; Viscerotom: innerviert Organe oder Eingeweide; Angiotom: vaskuläre Innervation: Neuritom: der Nerv selbst und seine Verlängerung mit dem vegetativen Nervensystem.
