NERVIO OFTALMICO

                                                                      

   Nervus ophthalmicus: rama del trigémino puramente sensitiva, una de las tres ramas terminales del nervio trigémino o V par craneal. El nervio se origina justo en la región anterior y media del ganglio del nervio trigémino y llega a la órbita por la pared externa del seno frontal, después de haber dado algunos ramos sensitivos para la duramadre (nervio recurrente de Arnold), para finalmente dividirse en tres ramas, que penetran en la órbita por la hendidura esfenoidal. Estas ramas son el nervio nasal, el nervio frontal y el nervio lacrimal.

   <(F.): Nerf ophtalmique: branche du nerf trijumeau, nait du ganglion trigéminé dans le sinus caverneux. Il emprunte ensuite un trajet légèrement ascendant puis passe par la fissure orbitaire supérieure pour rejoindre la cavité orbitaire. Il donne notamment trois branches: le nerf frontal, le nerf lacrymal et le nerf naso-ciliaire, qui se dirigent vers l'orbite pour innerver le tiers supérieur de la face. Le nerf frontal donnera les nerfs Supra-orbitaire et supra-trochléaire, destinés à l'innervation sensitive des tissus mous du front. Le nerf lacrymal rejoindra la glande lacrymale et s'anastomosera avec le V2 maxillaire. Il est destiné à l'innervation de la région palpébrale latérale. Le nerf naso-ciliaire sort de la cavité orbitaire pour innerver la région palpébrale médiale il donne sur son passage, nerf ethmoïdal ant et post, nerfs ciliaires longs, des rameaux pour le ganglion ciliaire.

   <(In.): Ophthalmic nerve: sensory branch of the trigeminal (5th cranial) nerve. The ophthalmic nerve carries general afferents from the superficial division of the face including the eyeball, conjunctiva, upper eyelid, upper nose, nasal mucosa, and scalp. Course and distribution: this nerve being completely sensory begins at the sensory receptors on the face at and above the upper eyelid. It is the smallest of the three divisions of the trigeminal nerve. It has a short course from the superior orbital fissure where its three branches meet. It then runs on the lateral aspect of the cavernous sinus below, the oculomotor and trochlear nerves. It ends at the trigeminal ganglion placed on the apex of the petrous temporal bone. It supplies the eyeball, conjunctiva and lacrimal gland, nasal mucosa and skin of the face above and at the upper eyelid, to include the nose. Branches: Nasociliary nerve, Frontal nerve, Lacrimal nerve. Root: sensory nucleus of trigeminal nerve at floor of fourth ventricle.
