Regio temporalis: región anatómica de la cabeza, situada en la parte lateral del cráneo, por debajo de la occipito-frontal y por encima de las masetérica y parotídea. Limitada por arriba por la línea curva superior del temporal, por delante por la apófisis orbitaria externa y el borde posterior del hueso malar y por abajo por el arco zigomático. Deprimida en los sujetos delgados. En el medio presenta el relieve de la arteria temporal superficial. Contiene fundamentalmente el músculo temporal que reposa sobre la escama del hueso temporal. Se comunica con la fosa ptérigo-maxilar por un ancho orificio comprendido entre el arco zigomático por fuera y la cresta esfeno-temporal por dentro.

Limitée en haut par la ligne temporale supérieure incurvée, en avant par le processus orbital externe et le bord postérieur de l'os malaire et en bas par l'arc zygomatique. Déprimé chez les sujets minces. Au centre, il présente le relief de l'artère temporale superficielle. Il contient principalement le muscle temporal qui repose sur l'échelle de l'os temporal. Il communique avec la fosse ptéromaxillaire par un large orifice entre l'arc zygomatique à l'extérieur et la crête sphéno-temporelle à l'intérieur.
