Vaina aponeurótica, conjuntivo vascular, que recubre en su totalidad la glándula tiroides. Esta vaina rodea completamente la glándula separándola de las estructuras vecinas circundantes. Para algunos anatómicos está formada a partir del sistema aponeurótico del cuello de forma que la fascia cervical profunda divide el lecho tiroideo en un plano anterior y otro posterior, haciendo una especie de bolsa o dilatación. Es muy delga, presentando un discreto espesamiento a nivel de los pedículos vasculares y en la cara posterior del istmo.

Cette gaine entoure complètement la glande, la séparant des structures voisines environnantes. Pour certains anatomistes, il est formé à partir du système aponévrotique du cou de sorte que l'aponévrose cervicale profonde divise le lit thyroïdien en un plan antérieur et postérieur, réalisant une sorte de poche ou de dilatation. Elle est très fine, présentant un discret épaississement au niveau des pédicules vasculaires et sur la face postérieure de l'isthme.
