<(A.):Abduktion: abspreizen z. B. eines Armes oder eines Beines bzw. eine Bewegung eines Körperteils (z. B. Daumen) von der Körpermitte oder Gliedmaßenachse weg. Das Gegenteil ist die Adduktion. Entsprechend werden die Muskeln, die diese Bewegungen ermöglichen, auch als Abduktoren beziehungsweise Adduktoren bezeichnet.
