Anomalía del desarrollo caracterizada por la ausencia congénita total o virtual de la mandíbula inferior. También llamada hipoplasia mandibular, es frecuente en los niños y normalmente se autocorrige durante el crecimiento debido al aumento de tamaño de las mandíbulas.

<(F.): Agnathie: absence totale ou partielle de la mandibule.
<(Ing.): Micrognathism. Micrognathia: it is a condition where the jaw is undersized. It is also sometimes called “Mandibular hypoplasia”. It is common in infants, but is usually self-corrected during growth, due to the jaws increasing in size. It may be a cause of abnormal tooth alignment and in severe cases can hamper feeding.
