Foramen mastoideum: orificio del hueso temporal situado por detrás de la apófisis mastoidea por el que pasa la vena emisaria mastoidea que une el seno sigmoideo con venas del sistema yugular. No está siempre presente en la mastoides pudiendo estar situado en el occipital.

Syn : trou mastoïdien.
<(In.): Mastoid foramen: transmits a vein to the transverse sinus and a small branch of the occipital artery to the dura mater. The position and size of this foramen are very variable; it is not always present; sometimes it is situated in the occipital bone, or in the suture between the temporal and the occipital.
