BORDLEY

 
   JOHN E. Bordley, nació en 1929 en el Hospital Johns Hopkins, de Baltimore. Fue director del Departamento de Otorrinolaringología desde junio de 1952, en dicho hospital sucediendo al doctor Crowe, Su labor docente en Hopkins se prolongó durante 35 años. Entre sus trabajos es de destacar el realizado con la colaboración del doctor William G. Hardy, de la Clínica de Audición y Lenguaje del Hospital Johns Hopkins, desarrollando un enfoque interdisciplinario para el tratamiento de las discapacidades auditivas y del lenguaje. Sus investigaciones incluyeron estudios fisiológicos, experimentales y clínicos sobre la sordera, las comunicaciones y la rubéola (tanto estudios epidemiológicos como anatómicos) y su relación con la pérdida de audición. Su interés especial fue siempre la "rehabilitación de los sordos". El Dr. Bordley murió en 1993 a la edad de 90 años.

Sein besonderes Interesse galt immer der "Rehabilitation von Gehörlosen". Dr. Bordley starb 1993 im Alter von 90 Jahren.
