Tumor benigno constituido por células de la membrana que tapiza los ventrículos del cerebro y el conducto central de la médula espinal (epéndimo).

Sa situation profonde, surtout dans les cavités médianes au contact de structures cérébrales assurant des fonctions vitales, rend son ablation chirurgicale souvent difficile.
