CRESTA FALCIFORME

                                                                            

   Crista transversa: tabique óseo situado en la cara interna o fondo del CAI, que divide esta cara, en el plano antero-posterior, en dos compartimentos por un tabique óseo denominado cresta falciforme o transversa. Se encuentra generalmente situada un poco por encima de la línea media transversal de este fondo y su dirección es, en la mayoría de los casos, horizontal, aunque puede ser también ligeramente oblicua.

   Sinóinimos: cresta transversa.

   <(F): Crête falciforme: barre transversalement le fond du conduit auditif interne (fundus) et répond exactement à la crête du vestibule. Cette crête divise le fundus en deux moitiés supérieure et inférieure puis se poursuit sur la face antérieure du conduit auditif interne pour y déterminer en haut une courte gouttière où s’appuie le nerf facial.

   <(Ing): Crista transverse, crest of internal acoustic meatus; falciform crest; transverse crest: a horizontal ridge that divides the fundus of the internal acoustic Meatus into a superior and an inferior area. In the former are the introitus of the facial canal and openings for the branches of the vestibular nerve to the utricle and to the ampullae of the anterior and lateral saemicircular canals. In the latter are openings for the cochlear nerve, and for branches of the vestibular nerve to the saccule and to the ampulla of the posterior saemicircular canal.
