Acción y efecto de deglutir o tragar; paso de sustancias desde la boca al estómago por acción sinérgica de la musculatura lingual, bucal, faríngea, laríngea, cervical y esofágica. Se compone de tres fases: oral, faríngea y esofágica.
<(F): Déglution: est l'acte par lequelles aliments, mâchés et imbibés de salive, sont portés, à travers le pharynx, de la bouche dans l'oesophage, puis dans l'estomac. Le mot vulgaire avaler désigne cette idée et se dit en latin deglutire; telle est l'origine du nom adopté par les physiologistes.
