HALOTANO.

 
   Es un anestésico líquido volátil entre cuyas ventajas destacan su potencia, una inducción suave, la ausencia de irritación del vapor, y raramente produce tos o pausas respiratorias. A pesar de estas ventajas, el halotano se utiliza, no obstante, bastante menos que antes, debido a su asociación con hepatotoxicidad grave.
 
<(A.): Halothan: ein nicht entflammbares, halogeniertes Kohlenwasserstoff-Anästhetikum, das eine relativ schnelle Induktion mit wenig oder keiner Aufregung ermöglicht. Die Analgesie ist möglicherweise nicht ausreichend. Distickstoffoxid wird oft gleichzeitig verabreicht. Da Halothan möglicherweise keine ausreichende Muskelentspannung bewirkt, können zusätzliche neuromuskuläre Blockierungsmittel erforderlich sein.

   <(In.): Halothane: a nonflammable, halogenated, hydrocarbon anaesthetic that provides relatively rapid induction with little or no excitement. Analgesia may not be adequate. Nitrous oxide is often given concomitantly. Because halothane may not produce sufficient muscle relaxation, supplemental neuromuscular blocking agents may be required.
