Arteria thyroidea caudalis: tiene su origen unas veces en el tronco tirocervical de la subclavia y otras directamente de la subclavia. Se introduce en la glándula por el polo inferior, desde atrás. Da origen varias colaterales: ramas faríngeas, esofágicas y traqueales, y las arterias cervical ascendente y laríngea inferior. Su distribución final es por la glándula tiroides mediante tres ramas: rama glandular inferior, rama glandular posterior, rama glandular profunda.
